A New Chapter - why we started our vinted journey

Every adventure starts with a spark of inspiration, and our journey into the world of Vinted is no different. What began as a simple idea quickly grew into a passionate project focused on a desire to find an alternative to landfill. In this post, we will share our motivations, the experiences that shaped our path, and the excitement that propels us as we explore the world of second-hand fashion.

We’re Sara and Hayley – a mum and daughter duo based in the South West of the UK, and we are the hearts and hands behind our new Vinted shop, @saragdennis.

What started as a simple clear-out quickly turned into something bigger. Something more meaningful. Something with purpose.

Like many of you, we looked around our wardrobes and saw just how much we owned but didn’t wear. Some pieces had hardly been touched. Some still had the tags on. And the more we read about fast fashion, landfill waste, and the environmental cost of clothing, the more we realized:

From Wardrobe to Mission

We’ve always loved clothes – finding great pieces, mixing high street with something a bit more special, and sharing that joy with others. But we know that for many families, shopping for quality fashion isn’t always affordable. And for many more, it’s becoming harder than ever to keep up with rising prices.

We set up our Vinted shop to meet those two challenges head-on:

1. To reduce clothing waste by rehoming beautiful, barely-worn clothes rather than letting them go to landfill.

2. To make fashion affordable again – for women, men, and children who still want to look and feel great without breaking the bank.

But it doesn’t stop there.

We also wanted to create a space where doing good is part of the everyday. That’s why, as our shop grows, we will be donating a portion of our profits to causes supporting vulnerable children in our communities. We’re still deciding which charities to support – but one thing’s for sure: the more we sell, the more we’ll give.

This shop is how we're making fashion happen. And we're just getting started.
